My aim as a teacher is to inspire a love of music while providing the resources each student needs to grow and achieve their personal goals. I take a collaborative approach, working with the student to identify specific, measurable goals, then tracking their progress to ensure those goals are met. Together, the student and I will find ways to maximize their passion for the process of learning.

I offer private piano and songwriting lessons focused on the areas of technique, improvisation, theory, creative growth, personal expression, and enjoyment. Additional areas of study I offer are recording, music business, and general creative productivity. In-home lessons are offered as 30-, 45- and 60-minute sessions in the greater Portland area.

In my work as a singer-songwriter, I have performed for diverse audiences around the world. Along the way, I have had the honor of visiting high schools in Japan and the US to perform in classes and answer students’ questions about songwriting, recording, touring, and music business. Additionally, I have worked as a nanny and babysitter and volunteered for several years as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies from the University of Oregon, with a minor in French and a strong focus on Queer Studies. I am committed to diversity and inclusion.
